Legend Bridge
Local name: Pont de la Légende
In the past, it was a strategic building of defensive walls, now the bridge is one of the most valuable monuments in the city. Its name comes from the story of Sancha, the wife of Gaston V, who was accused in 1170 of killing a newborn child. The woman was tied up and thrown from the bridge into the water. She surfaced unconscious but alive, which would be evidence of her innocence.
