Pleumeur-Bodou is a Breton seaside town. It is quiet, peaceful and liked by vacationers who are looking for places away from crowds and mass tourism.

The town has a several-kilometer-long fragment of the coast with small coves and hidden beaches. There are also coastal dunes and coastal islands where flocks of birds nest. You can observe them by renting a boat in the local port. On one of the islands there is also an ornithological station and the Sept-Iles reserve.

The town is suspended between history and modernity. In its surroundings, you can see several prehistoric menhirs, i.e. huge stones that were used for cult purposes. Some of them have traces of carvings. In turn, modernity is represented by the space communication center in which the sounds coming from distant galaxies are monitored.
