Serpenoise Gate

The city gate dates from the second half of the 19th century. When the adjacent walls were pulled down, the gate was transformed into a triumphal arch. Four turrets and a staircase were added to it. Inscriptions on the gate commemorate, among others liberation of the city in 1918 and its defense against Charles V in the 16th century
