The former abbey was built in the Romanesque style in 1118. It is one of the oldest and best preserved Cistercian monasteries in Europe. It has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The complex consists of a church, monastery, chapter, caldarium, refectory, loft and smithy.
