At 2082 meters above sea level, the mountain is the highest peak of the Chartreuse massif. From the east, it rises up an almost vertical wall with routes for advanced climbers marked out. An alternative easy route is from the west through the Porte Pass. The mountain is located in the Chartreuse nature park, formed, among others, by to protect the chamois population.
