Le Lavandou is a holiday resort situated at the foot of the Moorish Massif on the Cote d'Azur. It has 12 km of beautiful sandy beaches, and is also a great starting point for the islands of the Îles d'Hyères archipelago.
Until the tourism boom of the 20th century, Le Lavandou was only a minor fishing village. However, with the arrival of tourists, it began to change its face. Today, apart from the small center built up with tall tenement houses, there are plenty of hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments. Many of them have found their place right next to sandy beaches, hiding in coastal groves.
The 12 km long coast is divided into 12 beautiful sandy beaches. They are separated from each other by small, rocky headlands and coves. Most of the beaches have excellent landscaping, recreational equipment rentals, boats, kayaks and other vessels, as well as bars and restaurants. In the area, you can practice water sports, diving, but also go on excursions along the routes leading into the Moorish Massif. Near the coast there is the Îles d'Hyères archipelago, part of which is covered by the Natura 2000 program. Boat trips to its islands are organized.
