Lying in the picturesque, cut by gorges area, the village of La Palud-sur-Verdon is a great place for people who like beautiful views and active leisure. The Verdon Gorge located here is one of the largest and most beautiful in Europe.
The village is small, with only 240 people. It has a compact, stone building, and the roofs of houses are covered with orange tiles. Around is the undulating highlands surrounded by mountains reaching almost 2,000 m above sea level
The area around La Palud-sur-Verdon is known primarily for its gorges. The largest of them is the Verdon Gorge, which is over 15 km long. The village has the starting point of the Blanc-Martel trail running through the entire gorge. Above the edge of the chasm there is a viewpoint accessible from the road, from which you can admire the white rocks located here.
The Verdon River flows through the gorge. In 2004, a metal Estellier Footbridge was built over it. It is a steel arch bridge from which you can admire the view of the river valley.
