La Croix-Valmer is a quiet, traditional resort on the Côte d'Azur. It is beautifully situated among vineyards and Mediterranean groves, many of which are under protection. In addition to the sandy beach, there are also excellent diving spots.
The name of the town comes from the times of Constantine the Great. When going on a military expedition, he was to experience a vision in this area. A cross in the sky appeared to him with the message "Under this sign you will conquer". To commemorate this event, in the 19th century in La Croix-Valmer, a stone cross was erected at the site of the apparition.
The town has nice buildings, in which a prominent place is occupied by nineteenth-century holiday villas. They are hidden in greenery, and the whole area is perfect for long walks in nature and bike rides.
The most important attraction of La Croix-Valmer is its sandy beach. In the high season, it has great facilities in the form of bars and recreational equipment rentals. There is also a diving center here, which offers the opportunity to explore the underwater world.
