Castel Sainte Claire Park

From 1634, a monastery of Poor Clares erected here, on whose foundations in 1849 Olivier Voutier (discoverer of Venus of Milo) built a neo-Roman household. In 1927, the property was purchased by the American novelist Edith Wharton, who founded an exquisitely maintained garden that still exists today.
