Medoc Fort
Local name: Fort-Médoc
A 17th century fort designed by one of the greatest French military engineers, Vauban. Since 2008, it has been on the UNESCO list along with other defensive structures of his project. The fort was built on a quadrangular plan with corner bastions. It is surrounded by a moat and an earth embankment.
