Châlons-en-Champagne is a city that boasts the UENSCO-listed collegiate of Notre Dame en Voux and picturesque canals within the historic center.

The city is located on the way of St. James to Santiago de Compostela. In the Middle Ages, it was one of the most important stopping points for pilgrims following this route through Champagne. The main monument connected with this route is the collegiate church of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux built in the 12th century, which, together with other monuments of the St. Jakub was placed on the UNESCO list. At the church, there is the Notre-Dame-en-Vaux Monastery Museum presenting works of sacred art, liturgical objects and souvenirs related to the route of St. James.

Châlons-en-Champagne is also home to the Early Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral, and around it the picturesque Old Town with half-timbered houses and eighteenth-century representative buildings, such as the town hall or the Porte Sainte-Croix triumphal arch.

The main attractions of Châlons-en-Champagne are the canals Mau and Nau. They run partly beneath the city and partly above the surface. Currently, they are used primarily for recreational purposes, and boat rides are among the city's most popular attractions. In Châlons-en-Champagne you can also visit the Museum of Fine Arts and Archeology.
