A national park covering mountainous areas on the border of France and Spain. The landscape is formed by rocky peaks culminating in Pico de Vignemale (3,298 m above sea level), the highest peak in the French Pyrenees. They are cut by deep river valleys shaped by a glacier. There are also many picturesque lakes and waterfalls. The park area is accessible by a well-developed network of hiking trails.
