Established in 1927, the facility has many unusual exhibits in the collection, including the oldest stuffed elephant in France (died in 1802) and a copy of probably extinct Asian Kupreja (buffalo). In addition to crafted animals, in the museum vivarium you can also see live reptiles and fish.
