The Women's Museum

Local name: Kvindemuseet

The museum is housed in the former town hall built in 1857 and rebuilt in 1909. It is dedicated to the cultural heritage and history of women, including the division into social roles in society and sex education.

Among the collections there are collections of costumes, jewelry, everyday items and works of art, mainly paintings, graphics and posters. Here you can see, among others permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of women's struggle for electoral rights.

Another of the permanent exhibitions is "Stories of Girls and Boys", also addressed to children, where you can trace the biographs of real children living decades ago - it shows what their learning, play and work looked like. The differences between boys and boys are clearly marked here. Children can try on costumes characteristic of bygone eras and learn about the games and games of that time.
