Limassol Archaeological Museum

Local name: Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Λεμεσού

The Limassol Archaeological Museum has a rich collection of objects that were discovered during archaeological works in the city of Limassol and its surroundings. Exhibits document the period from the Neolithic to Roman times. The museum has one permanent exhibition thematically divided into three parts, arranged in three separate rooms.

In the first hall of the museum we will see ceramic products, and so, above all, various types of dishes. The second part of the exhibition presents various metal objects: jewelry, coins, lamps and tools. In the third room you will find stone objects, mainly marble and limestone. These are sculptures, tombstones, fragments of columns and inscriptions.

The Limassol Archaeological Museum was established in 1948, and in the 1970s it changed its headquarters and was modernized. This museum is part of the Aphrodite Cultural Route, which is a tourist route that includes places particularly associated with the Greek goddess of love and beauty.
