The house of one of the most popular Croatian painters - Vlaho Bukovaca is located in the heart of Cavtat. Inside, you can admire the living room, which served the painter as a studio, as well as private rooms with original furniture. The exhibition also includes about thirty most representative paintings of Bukovac.
It is also worth taking a look at the building itself - a spacious, nineteenth-century tenement house with a charming garden. The museum is open to visitors all year round. In addition to the permanent exhibition, you can admire contemporary art exhibitions organized from time to time.
Vlaho Bukovac was a versatile, talented artist. He painted portraits and landscapes, but did not avoid religious, historical and patriotic themes. His most famous work is the curtain design at the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb (Hrvatski Narodni preporod).
