Pirin National Park

Local name: Национален парк Пирин

The national park covers the area of the Piryn Mountains, together with their highest peak. Over 100 plant species grow in it, including the Baikal pine, about 1300 years old. There are also 45 species of mammals and 159 species of birds. The park has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
