Jan Fabre's Beetle Totem

A 23-meter steel needle with a beetle at the top was created in 2005 on the occasion of the celebration of the 575th anniversary of the Catholic University of Leuven. According to the creator, the famous Antwerp artist Jan Fabre, the combination of a surreal installation with the classic university library building reflects the character of the city and its most important university.
