Balloon of Friendship

The 11-meter monument from 1988 is a form of commemoration of Leuven Men of the Year - a local custom, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The tradition that began in 1890 consists in associating in a special brotherhood of 40-year-old men, in which they organize parties, trips and celebrate holidays until they reach the age of 50.
