The history of the town hall dates back to 1428. In the following centuries it was rebuilt several times. The current appearance, referring to the regional Flemish style, is the result of reconstruction after the destruction of the First World War. The town hall houses an art museum. The belfry adjoins the building, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
