Nationaltheater

The National Theater in Targu Mures is housed in a modernist building with elements of socialist architecture, built in 1973 on the site of a former church. The history of the theater dates back to 1946. Initially, only plays in Hungarian were staged there. When the Romanian section was added, the theater was raised to national rank. Both sections are still operational.
