Botanischer Garten Alexandru Buia

Lokaler Name: Grădina Botanică Alexandru Buia

The botanical garden belongs to the University of Krajowa and is the fourth largest in the country. It is named after professor Alexandru Buia, who founded it in 1952 with his students from the Faculty of Agriculture. Currently, over 6,000 species of trees, shrubs and other plants from around the world grow in it.

The garden is divided into several thematic sections. In the flowers section, you can see the extensive collections of dahlias, roses, irises, tulips, water lilies and peonies. In greenhouses, you can see tropical and subtropical plants, succulents and species characteristic of frosty regions.

Part of the garden is a lake covered with aquatic vegetation. There is also a section with cultivated plants, including fruit trees, shrubs, as well as herbs and medicinal plants.
