The oldest church in Łęczyca was erected as a Gothic basilica, but with subsequent reconstructions it took on baroque features. Its interior is also decorated in this style. The main element of the interior of the church is the 18th-century main altar, containing the painting of Saint Andrew the Apostle. There are two additional side altars with Marian paintings in the nave.
The shape of the church is an architecturally interesting mixture of gothic and baroque elements. Near the temple, there is also a bell tower, which in the past served as a defensive tower within the city walls.
Although the first temple on the site of St. Andrew was erected in the times of Władysław Herman (11th century), but it was destroyed by the Teutonic Knights, as well as another structure. The building that has survived to this day was built in the first half of the 14th century.
