The main square of Recanati, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Currently, its most characteristic building is the statue of the romantic poet Giacomo Leopardi. There are a number of historic buildings around the square, the oldest of which is the clock tower from the 12th century, which was once part of the seat of the city authorities. One of the frontages is occupied by the monumental, three-winged Palazzo Comunale, under the stairs of which you can see several historic tombstones. There is also a Romanesque church of St. Dominica.
