The attraction is one of the most important Italian archaeological finds discovered in recent decades. It was inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, in October 2002. It is located inside the 18th-century Church of Santa Eufemia and consists of 14 rooms lined with mosaics from the 5th-6th centuries.
