A small fortified castle on an artificial island in the Gulf of Rapallo. It was built as part of the no longer existing city fortifications, which were to protect the port against pirate attacks. The fortress is rectangular in shape with rounded corners and a massive square tower. Currently, the interior houses exhibition halls and cultural events.
