The Cliffs of Moher is an 8-kilometer stretch of cliffs along the Atlantic Ocean, part of the Burren Plateau. At its highest point, 214 meters above sea level, is the O'Brien's Tower. It is a stone building from the nineteenth century, which is now an observation point. On the cliffs' slopes, there is a visitor center with interactive exhibitions on geology, history, and the flora and fauna of the cliffs.
The cliffs mainly consist of limestone and sandstone deposits. About 30,000 birds live here, representing over 20 species. They include, among others common auks and Atlantic puffins that gather in large colonies in isolated parts of cliffs and on a small island called Goat Island. The Cliffs of Moher have been classified as IBA protected bird sanctuaries.
There were filmed scenes for films such as "The Bride for a Prince" (1987) or "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" (2009). Klify also appears in the music videos of Maroon 5 and Westlife.
