Glebe Galerie
Lokaler Name: Glebe House & Gallery
The Glebe Gallery is located in the village of Churchhill in County Donegal. It is the former home and studio of the English painter and portraitist Derek Hill. It houses both his own works and his painting collection, which includes works by Picasso, Kokoshka and Renoir, among others.
Derek Hill lived in Churchhill from 1954 to 1981. He lived in a nineteenth-century house built in the regency style, and his studio was located in the neighboring buildings. In 1981, he donated his house, his studio, art collection and his own works to the Irish state.
The gallery is divided into two parts. In the studio there is a room for temporary exhibitions, presenting mainly contemporary painting. The house exhibits the works of Hill and his collection of paintings. In addition to them, you can see a collection of furniture from different eras and oriental artistic fabrics.
