Howth Head Peak

Lokaler Name: Howth Head Peak

Howth Head is the highest point of Cape Howth in the suburbs of Dublin. The hill is 171 m above sea level. It offers a nice view of the Dublin Bay and the Daughters of Wicklow on the other side.

Howth Peninsula is a popular destination for weekend walks for Dubliners. Located approximately 15 km from the city center, it is accessible via the city's railroad. On the cape there is a port and a concrete pier to which seals come. Higher there is a belt of hills covered in the lower parts with groves, and higher with moors. The peak of Howth Head is located in the southeastern part of the cape.

Climbing the hill is problematic. Well-kept trails lead from the town. The road is a bit rocky but very straight. From the top you can admire the panorama of the bay and Dublin, as well as the Wicklow Mountains further away. You can also see the picturesque buildings in the lower part of the cape from here.
