Dublin City Gallery Die Hugh Lane

Lokaler Name: Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane

An art gallery located in Dublin, Ireland. Entering the facility, we see a historic building from 1763, where The Hugh Lane is based. The gallery is known mainly for its extensive collection of French art, which includes works such as "Portrait of Eva Gonzalès" by Édouard Manet.

The Hugh Lane was founded in 1908 by Sir Hugh Line and thus became the first known public contemporary art gallery in the world. Since then, it has been very popular not only because of the paintings by Manet, Renoir or Morisot - it is here that Irish artists show their works as part of permanent exhibitions. What's more, we can also find a room dedicated to the painter Sean Scully and the studio of Francis Bacon, reconstructed in 2001.

In addition to the permanent exhibitions, you will also find a large selection of temporary exhibitions, as well as workshops for children and educational paths. After the tour, the gallery encourages you to stop at the cafe and visit the bookstore with a large selection of souvenirs.
