Kathedrale von Angoulême

The 12th-century cathedral is known for its sumptuous façade, decorated with around 70 sculptures depicting the Ascension and the Last Judgment. The Gothic structure stands on the site of a primitive temple from the early Christian era, which was replaced in the 4th century by a brick church.
