Stadtpark Bochum
The vast green park was established in 1876 and is the oldest landscape park in the Ruhr region. Among the alleys and flower beds there is a pond with large fountains, a rose garden and the Bismarck Tower, built in 1909. It houses an observation deck from which you can observe the city panorama.
Another attraction of the park is the zoo with over 4,000 animals, representing 300 species. Among them are seals, penguins, meerkats and numerous species of monkeys and birds. There is also a terrarium and an aquarium where you can see snakes, lizards and various species of fish, both native and exotic.
In addition, the park houses, among others a playground for children, a mini golf course and a café with an ice cream parlor. In summer, there is a large water playground here.
