Krokodil-Zoo
Lokaler Name: Krokodille Zoo
This small but spectacular zoo houses the world's largest collection of crocodiles, including all 23 existing species. Proper crocodiles live here, including the only one outside of North and South America, the Orinoco crocodile, as well as alligators, caimans and gavials.
A visit to the zoo begins at the terrarium with Nile crocodiles and gavials. Then it goes along a long corridor with more terrariums on its sides. They are designed to best reflect the natural living conditions of reptiles. On smaller enclosures, you can see over a dozen species of turtles and snakes, as well as colorful birds, pumas and leopards.
The most famous inhabitants of the zoo are: Sobek, the largest living Nile crocodile in Europe, 5 m long and 600 km weighing, and the over 6-meter long Medusa reticulated python, one of the largest snakes in Europe.
