Liselund

Lokaler Name: Liselund

The picturesque estate consists of a miniature castle surrounded by an 18th-century park. It is considered to be one of the best English-style gardens in Scandinavia. It was founded in 1790 by the French nobleman Antoine de Bosc de la Calmette for his wife Elisabeth, known as Lisa. It is from her name that the name of the property comes from.

The castle can only be visited in May, but the garden is open to visitors all year round. You can walk along charming alleys and watch ducks swimming in one of the several ponds covered with water lilies.

There are several additional attractions throughout the garden. It is worth paying attention to the thatched Swiss House, which used to function as a gardener's hut, as well as the Summer Chinese House and the Norwegian House, which house guest rooms.
