Apollo Hylates Heiligtum

Ruins of the temple, which between the 3rd century BC and the 3rd century AD was the main center of worship in Cyprus. The complex also included bathhouses, a palaestra (training place for wrestlers and boxers) and a priest's house. In times of the greatest intensity of the cult of Apollo, touching the altar unlawfully could be thrown off a cliff into the sea.
