The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Queen in Iasi was built in 1992–2005 according to the design of architect Gheorghe Hereș. It has a round shape, 38 m in diameter and 36 m in height, of which over 10 m is a soaring cross crowning the central dome.
There are two entrances inside - from the east and west. The interior has the form of a semicircular hall with 76 benches, oak confessionals, a baptismal font and a tabernacle. The windows are decorated with stained glass windows depicting the creation of the world, the sacraments and the mysteries of the rosary. There are also mosaics devoted to scenes from the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The courtyard in front of the cathedral is surrounded by a stone and metal fence. In the middle there is a green space in the shape of a fish, which is a symbol of Jesus Christ and the first Christians.
