Temple dedicated to the Roman goddess of love - Venus was built in the 1st century BC. The structure was covered with ash and pyroclastic material during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the 1st century AD. The temple was discovered in the 2nd half of the 19th century. XIX century.
