Fasano is a quiet town in Apulia, surrounded by picturesque landscapes and a short distance from the coastal beaches. It is mainly known for its large safari park where you can watch animals from all over the world.
Though the history of Fasano begins in ancient times, there aren't many traces of such an ancient past. Near the coast is the archaeological park of Egnatia with the ruins of the Roman port. You can also see the small, early Christian church Tempietto di Seppannibale nearby.
The main attraction of Fasano is Zoosafari Fasanolandia , a combination of a wildlife park and an amusement park. It is a good place for a family vacation and facilities for those vacationing on the coast of Apulia.
There is a historic center in the city, but mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries. The Baroque Triumphal Arch, the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Palace of the Knights of Malta. Many houses have nice, ornate facades, and the streets are full of atmospheric restaurants and cafes.
