The castle was probably erected in the 6th century, later expanded many times. At the end of the 19th century, it began to be seen as a tourist attraction. At that time, the entire complex was purchased by the Soregaroli family, who opened a restaurant here. Later, the castle was purchased by the municipality of Bergamo and opened to the public in 1962.
