The Central Finland Nature Museum is part of the Science Museum of the University of Jyväskylä. It is devoted to various aspects of Finnish geology, fauna and flora from prehistoric times to the present day. Currently, its collection includes over 310,000 exhibits.
The most important collections are the insect collection with 200,000 samples, the plant collection with 81,000 samples and the mushroom collection with 13,000 samples. In addition, you can see exhibitions of stuffed mammals and birds, as well as geological and fossil collections.
