Waisenhausplatz

The square is located in the Old Town of Bern, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The southern part of today's square was built in the mid-16th century. Over the following centuries, the square changed its names and uses. There is a former orphanage on the square, from which the place takes its name.
