Parque Natural Superior Mureș Gorge

The nature park is located in eastern Transylvania, in the central part of the Eastern Carpathians. It includes a protected area of meadows and mixed, deciduous and coniferous forests. Within it there are, among others Deda Gorge - Toplița nature reserve. A rich flora grows here, largely endemic only to this region.

In the park live, among others wolves, wild boars, foxes, deer, otters and martens. Among birds, you can meet several species of owls and woodpeckers, lesser spotted eagles, herons, night herons, storks and black grouse. In water reservoirs there are, among others gudgeon, chub, burbot and chub.

Within the park there are numerous walking and hiking routes of various lengths and degrees of difficulty. For this reason, it is a good place for a trip for both families with children and experienced trekkers.
