Drammen is a tourist town, known primarily for its large winter sports resort. For fans of winter sports, there are cross-country and downhill trails, and in summer the area is perfect for hiking.

The origins of the city date back to the times of the Vikings, but most of the local monuments date back to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when Drammen experienced a period of intense economic development. These include the neo-Gothic church, the Rococo Fossesholm Herregård Manor, and the buildings of the Museum of Art, History and Culture, which includes the Drammen Museum.

Drammen's main attractions include the 200-meter-long Spiral Tunnel, which allows you to drive up the Bragernesasen hill from the city by car. This place is a great vantage point of the entire area, and at the top there is also a restaurant and a historic cannon from the time of the siege of Drammen at the beginning of the 20th century.

In addition to the Museum of Art and Cultural History, where you can see a collection of art, crafts and a small open-air museum in Drammen, there is also the Nøstetangen Museum dedicated to the history and products of the local glass factory. An interesting fact about the city is the oldest Norwegian brewery, Aass, whose traditions date back to the Middle Ages.

The area around Drammen is perfect for active tourism. There are quite a few walking routes leading to beautiful places such as Haukås Peak and Kjøsterudjuvet Gorge. In winter, skiing is possible in the Drammen Ski Resort, and in summer, there is a climbing center.
