Museo del Hospital Ceppo

The museum is located in the building of the municipal hospital in Pistoia founded by traditions in 1277. The historic part of the building has been used since 2015 for exhibitions devoted to the history of health and medical care in the city. The building is decorated with a Renaissance, majolica frieze depicting scenes from the life of the city.

Inside, there are medical instruments, doctors' biographies, hospital equipment and items related to maintaining hygiene. In the museum, you can also see the 18th century autopsy room attended by students of the medical school.
