Museo de las sinopias

A museum located in the 13th century building in the vicinity of the Cathedral of Pisa and dedicated to the creation of frescoes. It presents sketches made on the walls in preparation for creating paintings.

The largest part of the collection comes from the local Camposanto cemetery, where in the 16th century, magnificent frescoes depicting scenes related to death were created in the cloisters. Sketches from other Italian cities were also collected here, and the whole was enriched with multimedia.
