Museo del mar

The maritime museum and the aquarium connected to it are located in the Appiani Palace, the former residence of the Piombino rulers. Their goal is to show visitors the rich fauna and flora of the Mediterranean Sea.

In addition to traditional boards, specimens of marine animals and plants, the museum also uses modern technologies, such as underwater cameras, which allow you to see the life of the sea in real time. The small aquarium contains fish, crustaceans and molluscs inhabiting the surrounding waters.
