Renaissance church standing on the site of an earlier temple, in which, according to Traditionally, Pope Urban II was to announce a crusade to the Holy Land. It was erected at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries on a cross plan with a central dome over the naves' crossing.
The interior of the church is covered with Mannerist and Early Baroque frescoes by several painters, including Antonio Sacchi known as Pordenone. They form cycles referring to the Holy Scriptures and the lives of saints. The interior of the monumental dome shows heaven with the personification of God the Father.menos
