The cathedral in Piacenza was built at the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries. It represents the mature Italian Romanesque style. It is a three-nave structure with a basilica layout, with a high tower topped with a spire. There is a large rosette in the façade above the multi-story entrance portal. The interior is covered with baroque frescoes depicting scenes from the Holy Bible and the life of the patron saint of the church and city, St. Justyna of Padua.
