Fortaleza de Montepulciano

A defensive castle standing on the highest point of the hill on which Montepulciano is located. The fortress was built in the 13th century, and in the 16th century it was severely damaged by an earthquake. After restoration and reconstruction, it was designated for cultural purposes and now it houses exhibition rooms and a cultural center.
