Bassano del Grappa is a historic town famous for the production of the traditional Italian wine drink, grappa. There is a nice medieval old town and a covered wooden bridge spanning the banks of the Brenta River.
The location of the city is beautiful because it is surrounded by picturesque mountain peaks. You can admire the panoramas of the surrounding area, and the buildings themselves against the backdrop of the mountains look great. In the streets you can find historic houses and churches, as well as many interesting museums, such as the CityMuseum , the Grappa PolaMuseum or the LuigiBonfantiAutomobile Museum .
The most important attraction of Bassano del Grappa is the wooden Ponte Vecchio bridge. He is often compared to his Florentine namesake for his similar appearance. The first structure was erected here in the mid-16th century, and the present appearance of the bridge is the result of its reconstruction after the destruction of World War II.
